NAC Street League Season 23/24 Underway

NAC Breda‘s social street football competition will be played in two municipalities this year, Breda and Geertruidenberg. Pupils from primary and secondary schools will compete, not only on the pitch, but also for sportsmanship, respect and other social initiatives off the pitch.

Almost every week, students will compete against each other in matches, where teams can earn points according to the NOAD bonus point system. This competition is not just about winning matches, but above all about sporting behaviour and commitment to social initiatives. In this way, football is used as a tool to influence pupils’ behaviour in a positive way.

Kick-off: Wednesday 4 and 11 October!

On Wednesday 4 October, the starting gun will be fired for the new season of the NAC Street League in Breda. The spectacle will take place at car park P5, next to the Rat Verlegh Stadium. Here, primary schools will be in action in the morning and secondary schools in the afternoon. The day is full of sports and game elements to kick off the NAC Street League season. The kick-off in Geertruidenberg is scheduled for Wednesday 11 October.

NAC Street League season 2023-2024

This season, six to 10 rounds of play are scheduled over two halves of the season. The neighbourhood football pitch will be used as a stadium during home matches. On Tuesday afternoon, the teams of the NAC Junior Street League, consisting of pupils from group 7 and 8 of Breda primary schools, take part in the competition. This season, we welcome the Spoorzoeker as debutant. On Wednesday afternoon, pupils from various primary schools in the municipality of Geertruidenberg will be in action. On Thursday afternoon, it is the turn of pupils from class one and two of secondary schools in Breda, who will compete for the title in the NAC Street League and NAC Ladies Street League.

Besides playing matches, pupils will work on social themes at school during various workshops. In addition, pupils can earn extra points through neighbourhood contributions. These can range from cleaning up the neighbourhood to organising a games afternoon at the care home. In doing so, pupils contribute to society and their city. A social challenge is held in December. The goal the pupils will commit to will be announced at a later stage.
