N.E.C visits Radboudumc Amalia Children Hospital
Today, the first team of N.E.C including the staff is visiting the Radboudumc Amalia Children Hospital.
During this year’s visit, the children have the opportunity to play games with their favourite players from N.E.C and thereby can forget their illness for a couple of hours. It is the third year that the players and staff members visit the hospital.
The afternoon at the Radboudumc Amalia Children Hospital starts with a press conference, that is especially organised for the children.
The press conference, led by N.E.C’s director Wilco van Schaik gives the children the opportunity to ask the players questions which they always wanted to ask.
For some of the children the visit will be particularly exciting since they might already have been in contact with the players through the especially developed Mailbox system that exists between the hospital and N.E.C. The Mailbox initiative was launched a couple of months ago by N.E.C and enables the children to write letters to the players.
For this year’s visit, many activities were organised as table tennis, football or table football games. Next to that, a selection of players visits children in their hospital rooms that due to their health conditions are unfortunately not able to attend the activities.
At the end of the day, the N.E.C players and staff members will take a group photo with the children.
Wilco van Schaik, director of N.E.C. states “It is great that N.E.C can show in such a nice way how much the club cares about the community. We really want to give the children a day without worries, but with a lot of enjoyment. Our whole selection and staff members are joining the visit to the hospital and we really hope that all children and families will experience a day, which they will remember in a nice way and a smile on their face.”
