Montrose Community Trust to donate footballs to children

Montrose Community Trust have announced that they will donate free footballs to all kids who do not have one so that they can keep playing even during lockdown.

Montrose Community Trust might not be able to deliver their programmes, but this does not mean that children from Montrose will non be able to play football. In fact, the Foundation have announced that they will donate footballs to all the kids in the local community who do not own one yet.

This initiative is part of the COVID-19 Community Assist Scheme, which among other things includes a food provision project, a transportation scheme, and a mental health support system for the disadvantaged and vulnerable people in the Montrose community.

As schools are about to close for the summer holidays, many children will be staying at home without any activity to keep them busy. Under ordinary circumstances, the Community Trust would have welcomed hundred of these kids for their annual Summer Soccer School. However, due to COVID-19 this year this will not be the case.

To overcome this obstacle, the Montrose Community Trust will be sharing a series of videos with suggested activities, such as individual skills and drills so that children will be able to complete them on their own. Thanks to the Trust, now even the kids who did not own a football will be able to take part in the activities.
