Mental Coaching Training for the G-Storks
On Sunday 16 October, Ado Den Haag organized Mental Coaching training for their G-Storks. Led by sports psychologist Thijs Rentier, the 14 players were given a course in which the mental part of football was addressed. After this course, the players naturally went on to do what they are good at, playing football!
Sunday 16 October, the players of the ADO Den HaaG-Storks gathered at 13.30 at the De Aftrap youth complex to attend the Mental Coaching training course. Thijs Rentier, active in ADO Den Haag’s youth training, gave the course and taught the players the importance of a footballer’s mental state.
Thijs is a sports psychologist by profession and knows in detail how to guide players in becoming calm in the head. This promotes performance on the pitch and of course the G-Storks want to achieve that. The course was mainly about setting goals and working towards them. What do you need for that and how do you plan to achieve it step by step? Through this the G-Storks were put to work on this afternoon.
After the Mental Coaching training, the players took to the pitch under the guidance of trainers Remco and Wesley, and the theory was applied in various forms of practice. After the meeting, everyone agreed that it had been a successful day. And the G-Storks are ready for the next meeting in which they will go to Rotterdam for matches in the Special Eredivisie at Excelsior!
