Match of solidarity

In recent weeks, KAA Gent supporters have raised money for the Klein Gent emergency village being built in Kirikhan, Turkey. Thursday night’s European match KAA Gent – Istanbul Başakşehir is dedicated to international solidarity with the victims of the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.

8,000 euros for two residential units in Klein Gent
Meanwhile, the amount of the support campaign has reached 8,000 euros. With the money raised by KAA Gent supporters, KAA Gent and the KAA Gent Foundation, a second Buffalo housing unit can now be installed.

This support action was organised by Armada Ganda, KAA Gent, Supportersraad KAA Gent, KAA Gent Foundation, Tribune7, Buffalo Indians, Banlieue Gantoise, Ultras Ghent ’14, GHF and the Supportersfederatie Gent. The amount will be handed over on Thursday evening before the match.

With the action ‘Klein Gent: the warmest village’, we and numerous Ghent organisations want to provide a warm home for at least 300 families in the Turkish town of Kirikhan, where B-Fast is also present.

It is a concrete housing project of Helping Hands Belgium, a Ghent organisation that organises aid in the hard-hit Hatay region and coordinates Ghent initiatives in the region together with the association Burgerplicht Gent.
