Northampton Town FC combines sports and digital lessons
Northampton Town F.C. Community Trust has joined forces with two other sports clubs during the academic year to encourage more children to participate in sport.
The English football club, the ruby club Northampton Saints and the cricket club Northamptown Steelbacks have been collaborating with Barclays Digital Eagles to deliver a schools-based programme that combines three sporting disciplines and digital development in a single project.
Since September, primary schools across Northampton have had the chance to supplement the curriculum with professional football, rugby and cricket coaching as well as computer coding lessons delivered by Barclays Digital Eagles. The programme includes 6 weeks of PE lessons delivered by the professional community coaches at the clubs linked to a digital session with Barclaycard. Barclays Digital Eagles offer digital knowledge, solutions, alternatives and support to colleagues, customers & community groups.
