Elfsborg player Lundevall donates prize money to CSR Programme LikaOlika
In July, Simon Lundevall, player of IF Elfsborg, received the Player of the Month Award in Allsvenskan, including a prizemoney of 10.000 SEK (€1050.00,- ) from Svenska Spel which he could donate to one of the club’s CSR programmes of his choice.
Simon Lundevall has now revealed that with the money he received, he will support IF Elfsborg’s programme: LikaOlika. A programme, which is a collaboration between IF Elfsborg, Borå’s city and Elfsborg’s supporter association.
Simon Lundevall states, “Taking into account today’s society and considering that not everybody is able to visit a football match, LikaOlika is a great initiative, which I am more than happy to give the money to, rather than winning it.”
LikaOlika
The CSR programme LikaOlika is an initiative, which follows the aim of inviting people that newly arrived in Borås to the community and to the stands of IF Elfsborg’s stadium Borås . In that way, they shall be welcomed through football and experience an integration through joining the IF Elfsborg family. The project started in 2015 with supporters of IF Elfsborg collecting money to finance match tickets.
“Working in cooperation with our supporters is extremely important and powerful. We are able to help these people, newly arrived in Borås by inviting them to our football community”, says Simon Lundevall.
In 2015, after the first collection of money by a number of supporters, the reaction was that positive that a larger number of tickets could be bought, which were then at the disposal for economically and socially disadvantaged individuals and families. In 2016, the idea was further developed and became an integrated CSR programme, LikaOlika. This season, 2017, the programme was able to fund at least 50 tickets per game, for which people could apply.
