LFP gives visually impaired spectators a unique experience at the champions throphy
As part of its “Au stade, les différences se font sur le terrain” (At the stadium, differences are made on the pitch) campaign, the Ligue 1 teamed up with Give Vision for the 28th edition of the Champions Trophy to enable 9 visually impaired fans to enjoy a unique experience, thanks to an inclusive and innovative device.
During the 28th edition of the Champions Trophy, the Ligue 1 set up an innovative system enabling 9 visually impaired spectators to follow the match and fully enjoy the experience. The Give Vision helmets enabled these spectators to fully follow the match between Paris Saint-Germain and Toulouse FC despite their visual impairments:
- Either thanks to an enlargement mode that makes it easier to zoom in on the pitch;
- or thanks to the TV stream mode, which enables them to watch live images filmed by the cameras.
“Seeing things that were inaccessible to me before is fantastic”.

Already tested with Clermont Foot 63 on the occasion of a match at the Gabriel Montpied stadium in November 2023, this initiative is in line with the growing number of schemes aimed at people with disabilities, to enable them to experience sporting fixtures in stadiums.
This action marks the launch of the “At the stadium, differences are made on the pitch” campaign, which will continue during the second half of the 2023-2024 season, during which the Ligue 1 will highlight the best initiatives for welcoming disabled spectators in Ligue 1 Uber Eats and Ligue 2 BKT stadiums.
Ligue 1 has made accessibility a priority, making it an integral part of its CSR and customer care strategies. This is reflected in work carried out throughout the season, including the implementation of an action plan, collaboration with HandiCapZéro, participation in European accessibility projects and training for clubs at dedicated seminars.
The integration of this theme into the Club License via three criteria testifies to its importance:
- Access to ticketing for people with disabilities,
- Development of a dialogue between the club and disabled supporters.
- Publication of information on reception, services and accessibility on the club website.
In parallel with its day-to-day commitment to this issue, and the initiatives put in place by clubs to improve the welcome of disabled spectators in Ligue 1 Uber Eats and Ligue 2 BKT stadiums, the Ligue 1 will continue its work and actions to promote accessibility and inclusion for all spectators at future editions of the Champions Trophy.
