Levante UD and their Christmas campaign

The Levante UD Foundation was once again on display in its intention to promote Levanteism, especially among the youngest fans and supporters, and to reach out especially to the most disadvantaged groups in the first Christmas without pandemic alert, although without neglecting the pandemic.

The blue and maroon colours were finally present in classics, although with renewed airs, such as the Expojove fair, the Three Kings Parade, the visit to hospitals by professional football players and also the delivery of toys for children who, due to their more complicated circumstances, did not have access to them during these past holidays.

Expojove was once again one of the Foundation’s star activities. More than 200,000 people passed by the Granta stand during the days the fair was open, enjoying five fun activities such as the football pitch, the giant dartboard, the table football, the Play Station or another of the novelties, the sub-soccer table; or taking pictures with our mascots Blau and Grana. In addition to these fun moments, more than a thousand scarves, 2,000 flags and 150 kilos of sweets were handed out. In short, it was a day of authentic Levantinism.

Another of the basic actions for the Foundation was to be at the side of the people, and above all the children, with more complicated circumstances. And satisfying the hopes of the little ones to be able to have a present for the Three Wise Men was, once again this year, a fundamental objective for them. In this campaign, the needs of five associations were covered: África en el Corazón, Navidad en tu Puerta Amiga, Amigos de la Calle, Asociación Sociocultural Evangélica de Barona and Asociación Gitana Europea e Intercultural. In total, more than 400 toys were delivered for children and youngsters between the ages of zero and 15, thanks to the contribution of individuals, the donation by El Corte Inglés and the purchase of toys made in this centre by the Foundation itself. We would also like to thank Hasbro for their collaboration in this campaign.

A highlight of the Levante UD Foundation’s Christmas Campaign was the Three Kings Parade, which was attended by two floats led by the footballers Andreea Paraluta, Silvia Lloris, Núria Mendoza and Viola Calligaris and the footballer José Campaña; Fede and Peleh, from Levante UD FS; David Casinos, ambassador of Levante UD Di_Capacidad; the players from the various adapted sections; and boys and girls who did not want to miss this opportunity to spread illusion through the streets of the city of Valencia. And, once again, the presence and help of Volunteers, one of the hearts of the granota parade. In total, 6,000 blue and red plastic balls, 2,500 Levante UD scarves, 200 leather balls and 800 kilos of sweets were handed out. An evening to remember.

Finally, their players, accompanied by the president of Levante UD Quico Catalán, went to visit the children who are hospitalised in different centres in the city and surrounding areas. Cárdenas, Pepelu, De Frutos, Iborra, Álex Muñoz, Campaña and the manager Javi Calleja visited the Hospital Clínico, Hospital de Manises and Doctor Pesset, spending time with around 120 children.

A Christmas campaign that recharged the batteries of our Foundation for the beautiful and exciting projects that are coming in 2023.
