Kick-off G-football season in Belgium
On Sunday 5 September, the new G football season kicked off in Belgium. This year, the Football Kick-Off, the biggest national G football event in Belgium, took place on the grounds of Provincial Sports and Recreation Centre De Nekker in Mechelen.
The G-footballers were encouraged by the mascots of the professional clubs and were photographed for a unique moment with the championship cup of the Jupiler Pro League.
G football is any form of football that is played by people with physical, psychological and/or mental disabilities. A G football club is a club where sportsmen with a disability are 100% welcome and the club takes their possibilities into account by organising adapted training sessions. For G-sportsmen, there is something for everyone: you can practise G-football at both high and recreational level.
The Pro League strives for an accessible and inclusive football climate, with the ambition to work together with the clubs, supporters’ clubs, relevant authorities and expert organisations such as CAFE: Centre for Access to Football in Europe and Inter to make football and all facilities in our stadiums accessible to everyone.
