KAA Gent organises the game of the year “Samen Sterk 2020 VS. COVID-19”
On May 17th, live at 18:00, football will be played again in the Ghelamco Arena and will be the game of the year played virtually, “Samen Sterk 2020 VS. COVID-19”.
KAA Gent and the COVID fighters have joined forces to take on COVID-19 together in an intense battle. A battle that has been going on for more than two months.
To do their bit, KAA Gent has organised the game of the year, whereby team “Samen Sterk” will compete against a new sporting rival, COVID-19, all for charity!
Soccer debate with Ivan De Witte
Before the match, there will be a unique football debate, featuring Moderator and Football Commentator Jan De Wijngaert and initiator of the initiative, Club Chairman Ivan De Witte. Together with Virologist Marc Van Ranst and Analyst Marc Degryse, they will all sit on a discussion panel.
Together Strong 2020 team
For once, it’s not Odjidja and the team who will be representing the club, wearing the blue and white colours, but will, in fact, be another team of warriors. The team of COVID-19 fighters consists of prominent public figures who daily combat the virus in their field of expertise. As team “Samen Sterk”, “Together Strong”.
Support Digital For Youth
The name of the team “Samen Sterk” sums it all up, together we are strong! That’s why everyone can become a sponsor of this special contest because every contribution helps.
From 5 euros you can sponsor and support Digital For Youth and the competition, from Wednesday afternoon May 13th (at 13:00) until Sunday evening (at 23:59).
If you participate, you could be in with a chance of winning a series of unique prizes and all of the proceeds will go to Digital For Youth, the association that supports distant learning and contributes to the digitisation of education.
“We are very grateful that KAA Gent, together with hln.be wants to support the project of DigitalForYouth.be.” Said, Philip Du Bois from Digital For Youth.
“DigitalForYouth.be has already offered more than 12,000 laptops to young people to do their school work from home. But the need remains great, and so we continue to work on the long term to eliminate the digital divide among our youngsters.”
“With this sponsorship, we can help even more young people make their dreams come true. Thanks to this project, we can contribute to the digitisation of education, which will benefit everyone”, Philip added.
