Juventus FC gives “A Kick To Racism”

“A Kick To Racism” is part of the Juventus Goals’ scope of action and is part of the education pillar together with Fair People, the educational programme developed for schools with the aim of raising a young generation of people who want to live in respect towards others and themselves.

The recent incidents, which took place in stadiums present a clear and alarming picture: racism and discrimination, in all its forms, represent, in fact, a grave and still unresolved cultural problem.

For this reason, Juventus, aware of its role as a football company, has renewed its commitment on the subject, which was confirmed on December 10 – World Human Rights Day. This is a renewed and unpublished version of the project “Un Calcio a Razzismo” (A Kick To Racism).

The educational project recognised by the Regional Scholastic Office, and dedicated to secondary schools in Piedmont, is a free, modular and interactive educational path, composed of three self-contained lessons:

• Which race? – To break up and overcome the concept of race
• Equal and different – To reflect on how prejudices and stereotypes are born
• I speak… and do not discriminate – To understand the value of words and how they can become a means of discrimination

The goal is to make the younger generations more aware and responsible for language through training activities and moments of play.

Through the support of teachers and the involvement of families, boys and girls will be invited to trace the line which should never be crossed: the clear and distinct boundary between respect and any unacceptable discriminatory behavior.

In addition, Juventus For Special @ School, the sports and inclusion project that brings students together with athletes of the Juventus For Special team and breaks down barriers and discrimination related to disability.

Combating racism and discrimination is a commitment that requires sustained and combined efforts by all parties involved. For this reason, Juventus is open for collaboration with all stakeholders interested in the project, in order to replicate this and involve as many girls and boys as possible.
