The FIGC (Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio) awarded Juventus as the “Best Professional Football Club” at the “Grassroots Awards 2020”, the annual award dedicated to the best initiatives in Italian youth football.
EFDN’s member Juventus was awarded last week as the Best Professional Club at the Grassroots Awards 2020, the annual award promoted by the FIGC (Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio). The award aims to highlight the best initiatives committed to children and youth football.
Every year this competition hands out the awards for Best Grassroots Club, Best Grassroots Project, Best Grassroots Leader, Best Disability Football Initiative, Best Professional Football Club. The winners of each category go then off to participate in the European award ceremony, organized by the UEFA.
The Club was able to win thanks to projects as “Juventus Goals for Education”, “Fair People”, “Un Calcio al Razzismo” (A Kick at Racism), but also “Juventus for Special @ School”, the programme for which Juventus was nominated for the More than Football Award 2019 at the 13th EFDN Conference in Barcelona.
Juventus For Special@School is a sport project with social impact which is dedicated to people with cognitive-relational disabilities. In addition to the sports activity, there is an educational dimension to the project, a new path that is able to involve the new generations and is aimed at overcoming the prejudices and stereotypes related to disability.
