Join UEFA Foundation and their new #DreamingFootball campaign

The UEFA Foundation for Children has launched a campaign linked to the days after the crisis, #DreamingFootball. The idea of which is to bring back some hope to all by focusing on the days after the current COVID-19 pandemic is over.

We are all looking forward to the day when football returns, to bring joy to peoples lives! So, as we go through this difficult time together, we can participate in the #DreamingFootball campaign to show what we are all looking forward to the most, regarding our football dreams after the crisis!

#DREAMINGFOOTBALL

Simply, each football fan is invited to answer the following question: What is your football dream when the crisis is over?

The answer must be a… photo/an image. It can be a photo of whatever people want, some ideas may include a:

  • Selfie (for instance: lifting a trophy) landscape (for instance: just the sunny mountains outside or the garden)
  • Object (for instance: a trophy, a ball, shoes, car keys…)
  • Picture (for instance: a picture of a friend, a picture of a star, of a stadium, a former player…)
  • Symbol
  • Photo of people
  • Drawing
  • Something transformed, pimped up, made up, crafted

We’ve created some EFDN programme examples for inspiration below:

European Legends

“We can’t wait to get back on the football pitch and play walking football matches with the team!”

The European Legends programme was a Walking Football and Walking Sport initiative that was coordinated by EFDN and co-funded by the European Union through Erasmus Sport + and its partners. The programme increased awareness of the role of sport in promoting health-enhancing physical activities, social inclusion and equal opportunities.

Scoring for Health (EU)

“We are looking forward to learning more about nutrition, cooking, physical activity and football.”

Scoring for Health (EU) aims to tackle the problem of childhood obesity which, as identified by the World Health Organization, is still a critical issue throughout Europe today. With the underlying target of promoting a healthy diet and lifestyle amongst children, their families and wider communities across Europe, the programme supports the 3rd UN Sustainable Development Goal of Good Health and Well Being and is funded by Erasmus+.

STEM programme

“I can’t wait to attend more STEM courses, to learn more about how to program, make codes, and understand technological devices with my favourite football club!”

STEM – Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics – is the field that helps children learn how to program, make codes, and understand technological devices. Statistics tell us there are currently more than a million job vacancies in the STEM industry, while at the same time only 16% of college students graduate in STEM fields or subjects.

Football Works

“We are looking forward to playing in the next football tournament in a prison as part of the Football Works Festival.”

Football brings people and organisations together and has a social power that can inspire people to take positive steps in their own development. The football clubs can play an important role in this by offering social internships and work guidance programmes. ‘Werk via Sport DJI’ and EFDN acknowledge that football can be very important for detainees to successfully return to society after their detention, thereby reducing nuisance, crime and insecurity. See more about the ‘Football Works’ project here.

Healthy Football League

“We are looking forward to match-day again, when we will be walking to the game to help make our club the healthiest club in the city.”

The EFDN Healthy Football League is an app-based competition encouraging football fans of all ages to make healthy lifestyle choices and compete against fans from other clubs. Together with their fans, the clubs strive to become the healthiest club in the city, country and Europe. Any fan with a phone using Android or iOS can register and start scoring points for their club.

Community Champions League

“We can’t wait to take part in more street football competitions and to cheer on our teammates.”

The Community Champions League is a social street football competition organised locally in nine cities in eight different European countries, where the participating teams can win more points through Fair-Play, Fair Support and Volunteering in community activities than by winning their street football matches.

Active Fans

“I can’t wait to learn more about making positive lifestyle changes through the ‘Active Fans’ project”

Active Fans aims to develop a new European standard and methodology that uses football as a tool to reach men and women from 35 years and older who would like to get physically active again, make lifestyle changes and improve their diets.

GET INVOLVED!

We urge all clubs and fans to get involved, to help grow the campaign as well as the ‘pass it on’ chain on social media (essentially via Instagram and Facebook and Twitter).

You can do this by:

  1. Posting your created image on social media with the following hashtags: #UEFAFoundation; #DreamingFootball; #UEFA
  2. Asking two different persons (accounts) to post a photo/image and then nominate another two other persons etc. Of course, you can promote your own foundation or any NGO you support too!

You are free to add any comment that you wish! Don’t forget to tag EFDN and Supporter of Each Other on social media:
