For our ‘Show Racism the Red Card’ webinar on our anti-discrimination and anti-racism programmes in football and provide information on our #DiversityWins educational programme, we have invited different experts from partner professional and grassroot clubs. Our first speaker at the webinar will be Jan Cas who is the Football & Community manager at Pro League. Jan graduated Cum Laude from the University of Brussels with a Masters degree in sports management.

Jan plays an active role in the establishment of a strong CSR strategy in Belgian professional football.

During the 18th matchday of the Pro League, all the teams in the first Belgian proffesional league showed Racism the Red Card. After Royal Antwerp FC’s captain Faris Haroun was the subject of online racist abuse Antwerp’s game against Club Brugge.

After the incident, Royal Antwerp, Club Brugge, and the Pro League filled a report and pressed charges. In the midweek round this week, all the clubs showed solidarity with Haroun and made it clear that racism has no place on and off the pitch. Before kick-off, the captains of both teams and the referee took a picture with the “Show Racism the Red Card” red card.

The ‘Show Racism the Red Card’ webinar will take place on the 6th of July, from 2PM until 3:30PM (CET). Are you a professional or grassroot club interested in taking part in anti-discrimination and anti-racism programmes? Then do not forget to register by clicking the link down below.
