Inter Campus Romania hosts Friendship Tournament

Last week, more than 250 kids participated in a friendship tournament in Slatina, organised by Inter Campus Romania with the support of Comunità Nuova and Pirelli.

Harmony and fun were the main features of the fifth edition of the ‘Turneul Prieteniei’ – Tournament of Friendship – event, which for some years now has marked the end of the season for Inter Campus Romania. Taking place in Slatina, located on the left bank of the River Olt, Inter Campus have worked alongside Comunità Nuova and Pirelli to produce a project that aims to promote integration between children from varied social backgrounds. This includes children in social care, Romani children and those from the local community.

For two days, around 250 children aged between eight and 13, were in action out on the football pitch. Inter Campus took part with all of the teams from Slatina and a group from the Ramnicu Valcea centre, while also competing alongside other teams from the local areas. Respect, collaboration, passion, enthusiasm and friendship were all the real winners.

Pirelli’s new Financial Director, Alper Gobuluk was present at the event, honouring each of the teams involved at the end of the day’s activities. As they say in these parts, ‘Felicitari’ – congratulations – to all of the kids, coaches and organisers and ‘la revedere’ – until next time – Saltina. The next event will take place in October, marking the start of the new footballing season.

Recently, Inter Campus and Inter Milan have announced that their collaboration will continue and that both look to keep supporting thousands of children all around the world. A bond that exists thanks to the generosity and passion of Inter fans all around the world. Since 2017, there’s been a new channel to offer official support, that is to add €2 during the subscription process and formally become part of the Nerazzurri’s social project. The initiative involves thousands of members across the globe, who support not only through their contributions during the subscription process but also thanks to initiatives, dinners and events all in support of Inter Campus.

After Brazil and Romania, the collaboration is continuing for the current season with a particular focus on Africa. This time, the children of Inter Campus Angola are set to benefit. Inter Campus have been active in Angola since 2008 in collaboration with Polidesportivo Dom Bosco dei Padri Salesiani with the aim of preventing street crime and child sex trafficking for over 600 children from Luanda, Calulo and Dondo.
