How FC Emmen has supported their fans during the pandemic

FC Emmen have supported their local community during the last weeks while traveling on the first team’s bus through the Drenthe region, 

‘Supporter of Each Other’ FC Emmen have definitely not forgotten their fans during the COVID-19 pandemic. From distributing gift bags to raising money with nights, here is what the Dutch Club has done.

Surprising health workers

Onboard of the first team’s bus, delegates from Naoberschap United and supporters ‘associations Rood-Wit and Brigata Fanatico traveled to the Treant Scheper Hospital, the Ellertsveld Schoonoord, the Herstel Hotel Hoogeveen and the Veltman Stichting Weiteveen, delivering flowers and jerseys to show to support all hard-working and lonely people in these care institutions.

Showing love to the elderly fans

On the 1st of April, the Club surprised elderly supporters who live in the care institutions of the Drenthe area. Two board members of Supporters Association Rood-Wit delivered the flowers together with the Club’s mascot SIBI.

eSports to keep the fans entertained

Due to the health crisis this year the Eredivisie had to stop earlier than expected. To fill the void left by the league,  FC Emmen took part in the FAN division, a FIFA20 tournament played by the Club’s esporter Marcel Drent together with ten supporters.

Moreover, the fans could still watch, even if virtually, to the match  FC Groningen and FC Emmen, when two players from each club competed against each other to  FIFA20.

FC Emmen Bingo night to raise money against COVID-19

FC Emmen has organized several Bingo Nights to raise money. During each of these nights, first-team players went online and became the bingo masters. While having fun with their heroes, 2300 participants donated a total of € 7,699.
