HIS Church Delivery to Benefit Local Organizations
Vulnerable Govan residents will be aided by a delivery of 10 pallets of food, clothing and hygiene products through a partnership between Rangers Charity Foundation and an emergency goods redistribution charity.
The delivery of supplies to Ibrox stadium on 5 October 2022 will support community groups, local foodbanks and the work of the Foundation in the community.
The combined work of the Foundation and HIS Church, a charity with a focus on providing food and supplies to those who need it most, will aid organisations such as; Maslow Community Shop, Govan HELP, Govan Youth Information Project (GYIP), Elder Park Housing Association, Ibrox Foodbank, Safety Awareness Glasgow and Govan Community Council.
“We are incredibly blown away by the kind donation for distribution to the families that our organisation works with. Please be assured that this will deliver great succour to the families in Govan, especially with the current cost of living situation.”
Funmi, Project Manager from Safety Awareness Glasgow
The Foundation covered delivery costs and made a donation of £2,000 towards the work of HIS Church. The retail value of the ten pallets was over £20,000.
“Govan HELP would like to say a massive thank you to HIS Church and Rangers Charity Foundation, for the very generous donation of a pallet of food which will be used to help stock The Govan Pantry. This will help so many families using our service who are struggling to meet the weekly cost of food.”
Viv Sawers, Govan HELP’s Chief Officer
Maslow Community Shop will use the donation to help clothe and feed the most vulnerable in our society; asylum seekers, refugees and those in the local community who are experiencing hardship.
The Foundation reaches over 8,000 people with a range of community programmes for people of all ages. Some of the groups most in need will also benefit from the supplies delivered. This includes a variety of free employability programmes delivered from the Ibrox Community Hub.
“We pride ourselves in going the extra mile for the candidates on our community programmes. We help them with their confidence and self esteem as well as getting qualifications and towards positive destinations. Being able to offer our candidates support with suitable clothing for interviews, hygiene products and even food if things are difficult at home, enables us to help people more holistically rather than just addressing one or two barriers they may have to employment”
Jamie Duncanson, Rangers Charity Foundation Senior Community Executive
