Grove Academy pay a visit to the home of Dundee United

Grove Academy paid a visit to Dens Park last week as a part of a project.

Dundee Football Club In the Community Trust are working with 34 pupils from Grove Academy in a project that looks at the variety of work and opportunities that exist within a football club. The S3 pupils from the masterclass employability course are now in week one of six weeks, and all the children look excited to learn furthermore over the next 5 weeks.

Inspiration for young people

Grove aims to establish a warm, welcoming open ethos where everyone feels included, valued and safe. They endeavour to develop pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural principles, through their curriculum and through the school values of Responsibility, Fairness, Respect, Honesty and Determination. They try to inspire the young people to aspire to better and achieve the best they can, and aim to nurture their aspirations as they celebrate their achievements.

Grove Academy has served the Broughty Ferry area of Dundee for over 120 years, and currently have over 1200 pupils enrolled studying a wide-ranging and exciting curriculum. Their associated feeder primary schools are Barnhill Primary, Eastern Primary and Forthill primary.

DUNDEE FC

The DFC in the Community Trust was established in November 2017 as a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO). The purpose is to promote education and public participation in sport through the organisation of recreational activities leading to an improvement in the participants’ living conditions.
