Glentoran FC wins key community service award

The work carried out by the Glentoran FC has been recognised by the East Belfast business, sporting, retail and community sectors as the winner of the Eastside Awards for Community Impact at the annual awards evening held at the Stormont Hotel.

“We are delighted that the work of the Social Partnership has been recognised and thanks especially to Jodie, Claire and the Milk Bar team for the work that is done throughout the year in providing meals for those most in need in our society as well as the Christmas appeals which have helped those further afield. The award also recognises the wider work undertaken last year by Karla in working alongside the Rio Ferdinand Foundation. Whilst we are obviously a football club with a focus on what happens on the pitch, this work in supporting the community is extremely important. Additionally this work is essential as we work towards our new stadium and how the new facility will be available to support the wider community of East Belfast.”
