Getafe CF Foundation launches Walking Football Project

As part of the celebrations of the International Day of Older Persons, on October 1st, the Getafe CF Foundation launched its “Getafe Walking Football” Project as an initiative to promote physical activity among women and men over 55 years old.

This programme is designed to help people stay in shape and maintain an active lifestyle, regardless of age or physical condition, enjoying the practice of football while avoiding the risk of injury.

For Getafe CF Foundation the main objectives of this project are to help reduce sedentary lifestyles among the elderly, thus improving their health and autonomy. It also seeks to increase the social activity of the participants by creating spaces to encourage sociability and amusement.

With the support of a specialised team of professionals, several free theoretical and practical workshops will be organised online to promote the knowledge of this project, as well as the learning of the competition rules. Due to the current situation, the face-to-face training sessions will take place in the Getafe CF sports center once the health situation is more favorable.

Registrations and more information can be found here.
