Ferencvaros TC launches Fradi Gym Class

The Fradi Gym Class School Programme was launched in 2015 and since then has visited over 160 schools reaching 55 thousand students. In 2017 the programme received the fair play award from the Hungarian Olympic Committee.

In October 2018, Ferencvárosi TC announced that the club signed a partnership agreement with the Hungarian School Sports Federation with the aim to further develop the Fradi School Programme.

As a result of the collaboration, the club launched a new initiative this February, the Fradi Gym Class. The first students to take part in the class were from the Szvetnik Joachim Primary School, where two of our players, Anna Csiki and Julian Kock, along with coaches of Fradi held a class.

“The Fradi Gym Classes are a result of two-years of thorough preparation” states Balint Mate, international project manager of FTC.  “The Fradi School Programme was so successful that it reached 6-18-year-olds in several cities, towns and villages. They learned about the club’s history but Ferencváros was looking for opportunities to further increase their engagement with the club.

The Hungarian club followed several international examples which provided a basis for the new programme in collaboration with the Hungarian School Sports Association. It adapts to local conditions and facilities and holds football and handball training sessions. The Fradi School Project has an excellent reputation and the club wanted to use this to further develop the programme while maintaining original format.

The Fradi Gym Classes educate students about football and handball in a fun and interactive way. Their coaches hold classes for 6 to 18-year-olds and in these classes, the students can also collect signatures from the athletes and coaches and also have the opportunity to receive vouchers for the home matches of the football team.
