Five new “Excelsior Schools” in Rotterdam
S.B.V. Excelsior Rotterdam signed five new contracts to extend its “Excelsior Schools” network. The Dutch football club works together with numerous partner schools and organises various activities in the schools that address a variety of social issues.
The network of Excelsior Schools consists of primary, secondary and special education schools in different areas of Rotterdam. The new partner schools Mavo Schiebroek, Pierre Bayle, Praktijkschool Accent Centrum, Cornelis Haak School and OBS De Waterlelie all have different target groups and are located in different parts of the city but all of them recognise the social power of football and are looking forward to the cooperation with Excelsior Rotterdam.
Reading stars and press conferences
Through the cooperation with S.B.V. Excelsior and its community foundation Excelsior4All , the schools have the opportunity to participate in different activities and events. Schools can get 50 free tickets for a match of Excelsior and players of S.B.V. Excelsior will visit the schools to promote reading. The students can also participate in a special Press conference for young people and ask the players various questions. Furthermore, the “Scoring for Health” programme is stressing the importance of physical activity.
