Former Student at Sheffield United Community Foundation Secures Glasgow Rangers Role

Max will be working with EFDN Member Glasgow Rangers as an Academy Analyst as part of his University Master’s Degree placement year.

Max studied on the BTEC programme at Sheffield United Community Foundation and progressed onto the Foundation Degree programme. During his time with the Foundation Max volunteered to coach on the PL Primary Stars Programme and delivered PE sessions to schools in Sheffield. Max believes that studying and being a part of Sheffield United Community Foundation has played a big part in getting him to where he is today. Max said: “The Foundation allowed me to develop both as a professional and an individual. The education gave me the base knowledge to understand different aspects of sport. However, the trust the foundation showed in me to be able to volunteer in schools and on camps, I believe contributed to where I am today.”

Delivering sessions in schools helped Max to learn and experience what it is like to work in a sporting environment. It also allowed him to build contacts with teachers and other coaches. “Without the experiences that I have gained from the Foundation, from coaching to working in the clubs’ recruitment department, I wouldn’t have been able to secure my role today. Now I have the opportunity to grow away from Sheffield United but I will always owe the Foundation for the trust and dedication that they showed in me.”
