Everton in the Community introduces footgolf
Everton Ambassadors Ian Snodin and Graham Stuart recently laced up their boots to join Everton in the Community’s Active Blues participants in blowing off the Christmas cobwebs with a game of footgolf.
Funded by Sport England, Active Blues is delivered by EitC and Edge Hill University with the aim of encouraging inactive people to get moving. Targeting males aged 35-50 in North Liverpool, the programme looks to engage inactive men to become physically active through sport.
Active Blues staff have recently re-developed the programme and have extended the variety and diversity of sport sessions available to appeal to a wider audience and help men across Liverpool achieve those New Year’s resolutions.
Monthly footgolf session
Speaking after the session, Diamond said: “Footgolf is a great way to get active and get some air into your lungs whilst still having a good laugh with a fantastic group of lads.
“Active Blues is a great opportunity for men across Liverpool aged 35 to 50 to come together and work on their fitness in a variety of ways.”
Healthier lifestyle choices
All Active Blues sessions are ran by qualified coaches and instructors from Everton in the Community and those that join the project will also have the opportunity to meet current and former Everton players, be entered into draws to win matchday tickets and stadium tours, as well as receiving other prizes along the way. You will also get the chance to socialise with other males on the programme during the other planned events as part of the programme.
