Football Works Festival in Vught postponed to October 2020

EFDN, PI Vught and ‘Werk via Sport DJI’ have decided to postpone the 5th edition of the ‘Football Works Festival’ from Thursday 25th June to Wednesday 28th October 2020. The ‘Football Works Festival’ is a unique tournament and conference within the walls of a Dutch prison.

The current situation is unclear; therefore, we have made this decision to postpone the Football Works Festival for the health and safety of all involved, due to the current COVID-19 crisis.

We are deeply upset about this because we know that colleagues, football clubs and network partners have been busy with the preparations.

However, we will continue with the tournament in October, which will be the perfect platform for football clubs and prisons from across Europe who offer work placement programmes for vulnerable target groups.

The structure of the tournament and conference will be the same as planned but, for the first time, the programme includes roundtable discussions promoting brainstorming idea exchanges, to further develop reintegration through sport.

We will keep you updated on the preparations for the event. In the meantime, please follow our social media channels for regular updates. Stay safe, stay home and take care.
