If you’re determined to change your health and fitness for the better in 2018 then Rangers Charity Foundation can help! TheirFootball Fans in Training programme has changed lives for the better, and this is your chance to take the first step in turning your life around too!
Rangers Charity Foundation is looking for both men and women, aged 35 – 65, to sign up for one of the FREE 12 week programmes that can help kick-start your path to health and fitness.
Participants work with Ranger’s football and health coaches one evening per week, training and learning about fitness and wellbeing. Plus every participant is issued with a Rangers training top so they’re part of the team.
Rangers Charity Foundation be with you every step of the way to keep you motivated and help you change your lifestyle – all you have to do is take that first step and sign up!

The Ranger Charity Foundation’s latest women’s course was the most successful ever, with every participant losing either weight or inches – or both. Claire Lamb, Karen Pender, Janet Purvis and Jaclyn Waite lost an incredible 27.8 kilos between them.
In the Monday group, John Coleman was able to stop medication for his diabetes thanks to the change in his lifestyle, whilst in the Friday group Allan Jack, Colin Dykes, Derek Russell and Iain Jamieson all lost double figures – a total of 47 kilos between them!
Of the 49 participants across the groups, a total of 269.6 kilos were lost (42 stone 6lbs) and 323.5cm disappeared from waist lines. Participant Brian Hendry commented,
“I enjoyed the course 110% and the advice encouragement and professionalism of John and Willie was appreciated by myself and I know the other lads. So thanks for the opportunity for taking part in the course.”
The programme:
The 12 weeks programme includes an initial health check and introductions on the first session, with subsequent sessions being split between classroom health education and physical activity sessions.
The course covers lifestyle issues such as:
- Weight management
- Physical activity
- Diet and healthy eating
- Alcohol awareness
- Motivation and well-being
When
Men’s Fit Fans – we have 2 courses on offer starting on 5 and 9 February 2018. The Tuesday course will run from 5pm – 7pm and the Friday course from 6pm – 8pm.
Women’s Fit Fans – starts Tuesday 6 February 2018, 5pm – 7pm.

Eligibility
Both men and women are eligible to take part if they are age 35 – 65 and meet any of the following criteria –
BMI of 27+ (Calculate this by visiting http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/)
Belly 100cm+ (measure your waist and go around your belly)
Trouser waist size of 37 inches+
Please note that anyone who has previously been on a Fit Fans course will not be able to participate.

From 2018 onward, Rangers FC is participating in a new pan European Programme coordinated by EFDN. The Active Fans programme, which will run from January 2018 until June 2020 aims to develop a new European standard and methodology that uses football as a tool to reach men and women from 35 years and older who would like to get physically active again, make lifestyle changes and improve their diets.
The Erasmus+ Sport funded programme is being delivered in collaboration with the 9 project partners; Fulham FC Foundation, Vitesse Betrokken, Bayer 04 Leverkusen, Rangers Charity Foundation, Ferencváros TC, NEC Nijmegen, Feyenoord Rotterdam, KAA Gent and Valerenga Fotball.
