FK Sarajevo supports parenting house for cancer patients

With the project ”Friendship of the Parenting House”, FK Sarajevo supports a parenting house for parents who have children with cancer and have to stay in the hospital for a longer time. Through the parenting house, it is easier for their parents to stay close to their loved ones.

The Parenting house for children who have cancer and their families is primarily a home, a place where they feel happiness and joy in a long-lasting and difficult process of treatment, a place where they laugh, where they get understanding and support, a place where they do not feel different.

For the parenting house to be built at all, it was necessary to get support from the entire Bosnia and Herzegovina. Not only the start of the house, but the complete day to day delivery of the organisation and house depends on donations and the good will of people. The management and players of Sarajevo FC chose to finance an apartment named “Tetris”, and will be a patron of the house for the next year.

Collaboration FK Sarajevo

The cooperation between the parenting house and FK Sarajevo was formalised in a contract which was signed by the CEO of FK Sarajevo’s, Sabrina Buljubasic. “The club is convinced that only if we bring out the good within ourselves and do well, we can progress as a society.” Both parties will work together to create a house with a nice atmosphere in which they can feel happiness and get support, the best combination for the welfare of children and their parents, which will contribute to a better and faster recovery.

“When we know that we have accommodation, it’s easier for us. There is much relief when you know, that you can focus only on your child and treatment, without thinking about the financial side of the problem. This illness carries great problems with itself, in addition to great fear for the life of your child. We are very grateful to FK Sarajevo for coming multiple times to the house now that they showed us that we are not forgotten and left to ourselves. I really believe that good comes back so I hope, that all this good that they do for us will be returned to them. I thank them from all my heart for every smile on my child’s face,” said one of the parents from the Parenting House.

The club will continue their support for the parenting house in the next year and also invited the people of the Parenting House to a game of the 1st team of FK Sarajevo in the near future.
