First TACBIS project meeting in Oxford
‘Tackling Colour Blindness in Sport (TACBIS)’ is a new Pan-European programme delivered by EFDN and six partnering organisations. EFDN hosted the first project meeting at Oxford Brookes University on the 20th & 21st of January.
Together with our programme partners Colour Blind Awareness, Oxford Brookes University, Randers FC and the National Football Associations of Iceland, Romania, and Portugal, EFDN will investigate the prevalence of colour vision impairment (CVI)/ colour vision deficiency (CVD) in football. The ground-breaking research aims, for example, to identify barriers to progression for colour blind players and strategies to overcome these barriers to participation. Together with our project partners, we aim to raise awareness for colour blindness in sport and society and promote surroundings that are colour blind friendly.
PROJECT MEETING IN OXFORD
The first international project meeting at Oxford Brookes University kicked-off with a short presentation of all partner organisation. After examining the current state of practices in the field, the attendees discussed and developed the TACBIS methodology. The first day in Oxford ended with presentations of EFDN focusing on data collection, monitoring & evaluation and communication. Project planning, finance and the next steps in the programme delivery were the main topics on the second day of the interesting and interactive first international project meeting.
