First Legends Tournament for the Benefit of OM Foundation
Launched a few days ago by President Pablo Longoria, the OM Legends program was in action last Friday. On the lawn of the Orange Vélodrome, former club players gathered for a “Legends Tournament” for the benefit of OM Foundation.
While they received the “As a single OM” trophy at the Robert Louis-Dreyfus center on the sidelines of the 30th anniversary of victory in the Champions League, Basile Boli, Eric Di Meco and Jean-Marc Ferreri were once again present in Marseille last weekend. They were joined for this day by Taye Taiwo, Stéphane Mbia, Vitorino Hilton, Ronald Zubar and Jacques Abardonado. Executive ambassador of Olympique de Marseille, Jean-Pierre Papin was also present. True players in the OM Légendes programme, they all together took part in the first “Legends Tournament” organized by the club.
Under the sun of Marseille city, this first edition took place under the sign of fair play and the pleasure of playing. A unique opportunity for the participants who supported this initiative was to tread the lawn of the Orange Vélodrome alongside former Olympians.
Led by OM Légendes, the “Legends Tournament” is a unique experience for the benefit of OM Foundation. For this first edition, the funds collected will be directly dedicated to the financing of various projects including “Capitale du Foot” which aims to rehabilitate spaces in football fields accessible to all, in collaboration with local partners and actors. A first realization will be announced soon.
Olympique de Marseille thanks all the participants and its OM Legends for this first “Legends Tournament” for the benefit of OM Foundation. An initiative that aims to be part of the time to continue to connect the history and the future of the club to the service of the community.
