Feyenoord on social exchange at Hapoel Beer Sheva
In the upcoming days, not only the team of Feyenoord will travel to Beer Sheva. A delegation from Feyenoord’s social department is also active in the city in Israel, located in the Negev desert. During the exchange, the Feyenoord community coaches will share their knowledge with local coaches and Feyenoord will get a glimpse into the kitchen of Hapoel Beer Sheva’s training campus.
Both Feyenoord and Hapoel Beer Sheva see football as an educational tool for social empowerment. Sport, and in this case football, can be used to motivate young people and to learn about tolerance, respect, and sportiness. By exchanging methodologies and programmes and talking to coaches from different backgrounds, both clubs broaden their knowledge in the field of football as a social resource. The delegation visit a home for risk children, give a presentation about Feyenoord’s work and social programmes in Rotterdam and visit the Training Campus of Beer Sheva on Wednesday.
Of course, that knowledge is also put into practice during a football session at the training campus on Thursday. Two community coaches will lead an open training for local children in Beer Sheva on Thursday morning. The goal: to give the children a fun, sporting and educational morning in the run-up to the competition of that evening!
