Feyenoord give captain’s band to heroes in the community

Feyenoord Rotterdam decided to pay respect to those who are community leaders during the COVID-19 crisis.

In the past days, the Club visited those who are in the front line fighting against the virus to pay them respect by giving them the captain’s band. Among them, Diederik Gommers, who during the crisis has become the face of Dutch intensive care units.

Feyenoord wanted to praise Gommers for his pioneering role and the calm he radiates during public discussions about the Coronavirus. This IC specialist has become a known face to most Dutch, by appearing often on TV to talk about the pandemic. As a big Feyenoord supporter, he greatly appreciated the gesture.

Feyenoord visited also nine other community leaders. In various places in the Netherlands heroes were honoured for their leadership qualities. All of them are people who make a positive difference, inspire others, and show strength during tough situations.
