Feyenoord celebrates the kick-off of the Club1908 Summer school
The children of Rotterdam-Zuid will be busy for the upcoming weeks, as Feyenoord opens the doors of its Club1908 Summer School.
On the 20th of July, EFDN’s member Feyenoord welcomed the first participants of the Club1908 Summer School in De Kuip. The initiative, is a derivative of the bigger Club1908, Feyenoord’s educational programme, and it gives the opportunity to children to have two full weeks of fun and education.
With a new cycle starting every two weeks, many kids, aged 9 to 12, from the Rotterdam-Zuid area will spend their days in the club’s stadium, where they will work on assignments that have to be carried out at various places in De Kuip.
During the lessons, the young participants are challenged so they can develop problem-solving and creativity skills. Special attention is paid to sports and football in particular. For example, children take part in robotball, where children learn to program a robot on a mini-football field.
Due to the COVID-19 health crisis, there are many children who can make good use of the extra support and, through the Club1908 Summer School, can spend part of their holiday in a fun, sporty, and educational way.
