Ferencvárosi TC ‘Active Fans’ Success

Participating in EFDN’s ‘Active Fans’ programme,Ferencvárosi TC have found a great deal success through their participation, with it not only helping the fans taking part but also making for an enlightening experience for the trainers and coaches helping the fans in their journey, giving them a new perspective after working with people who are not professional athletes.  The positive experience has resulted in their Health Promoter, Ms. Boglárka Németh (involved in the local delivery of the Active Fans Programme) and the nutritionist of Ferencváros, Dr. Peter Fritz aiming to conduct research on the programme and publish the results of the local participants in scientific journals and present them at conferences.

The overall objective of the 2 1/2 year programme is to develop a new European standard and methodology for using football as a tool to reach men and women over the age of 35 years who would like to get physically active again, make lifestyle changes and improve their diets.
