FC Shakhtar provides humanitarian assistance in the Lviv region

Over the past week, several trucks with humanitarian supplies have arrived at the stadium and been placed in the warehouses inside the arena. They also delivered more than 1,100 mattresses from the Metinvest company that are intended for all those in need in the Lviv Oblast. FC Shakhtar staff take part daily in receiving and registering IDPs from different regions of Ukraine who were forced to move to the west of the country due to hostilities and settled at the Centre for Support of Internally Displaced Persons at the Arena Lviv.

At the request of the Lviv Regional State Administration, a batch of beds, mattresses, heaters, electrical appliances, hygiene items and other goods was sent to one of the settlements in the Lviv region, where 450 IDPs from Kharkiv were temporarily accommodated. The club employees conducted an audit of the readiness of the hostel where people are planned to be accommodated, and based on the audit results they purchased a batch of electrical equipment that will make the living conditions more comfortable. FC Shakhtar will continue to provide assistance to the temporary migrants in need.

Your help is still needed

Polish football club Legia Warsaw, together with their charitable arm Legia Foundation has already offered their stadium as a collection and distribution centre for these priority items. From there, Shakthar Donetsk will arrange for the items to be delivered to the Lviv Stadium. EFDN will act as coordinator for all clubs, leagues, FAs and fan groups that are willing to support this initiative.

Therefore, EFDN calls on all its member organisations and their partners to collect the items that are needed urgently at the Lviv Arena Shelter and/or to raise funds that support this cause. You can find the items that are needed in the attached list or start a fundraiser.

Organisations that want to participate can contact EFDN at helpukraine@efdn.org  to register their initiative and can then start immediately organising collections, or fundraising and purchasing priority items.  To manage the flow of all materials in good order, please contact EFDN before you ship your items to the Stadium of Legia Warsaw.
