FC Schalke 04 stands up together with its training kit partner against discrimination
FC Schalke 04 together with its main sponsor and training kit partner show attitude during the home match against VfL Wolfsburg on Friday.
Meanwhile, MeinAuto.de and HRS will terminate their sponsorship and instead of that, head coach Thomas Reis and his team will be wearing jerseys with the lettering #STEHTAUF (Standup) in the warm-up and during the Bundesliga. This is a special sign of the unity of the partners in the common fight against discrimination and for more tolerance.
“As a football club with such a wide reach, we have to be a beacon in society – for tolerance, respect and cohesion and, above all, against racism, anti-Semitism and all forms of hatred and agitation. It means a lot to us that we will be able to present our message #STANDUP on both the jersey and the warm-up shirt on Friday means a lot to us. Our thanks go to MeinAuto.de and HRS, both of which did not hesitate for a second and immediately agreed to stand up together with us.”
Bernd Schröder, Chairman of the Board of FC Schalke 0$
The jerseys will be auctioned off after the match in aid of the club’s own foundation, Schalke hilft! and more detailed information will follow on Monday (13 February) on schalke04.de.
