FC Emmen’s Blind Stand Enjoys New Audio Support
On Friday the 1st of September, at the FC Emmen home match against FC Dordrecht, the blind stand was able to use new audio support for the first time. Dorgelo Audio Services made it possible for the new support to be installed on the south stand. As a result, there is no longer any delay in the live coverage of RTV Drenthe reporters Niels Dijkhuizen and René Posthuma for the people in the blind stand.
Previously, the blind stand used the Milestones 312 Ace, a memo recorder for recording voice notes, playing music and text files and receiving FM radio. During home matches, the Milestones were tuned to RTV Drenthe’s FM frequency, allowing people from the blind stand to watch the match via live coverage.
While using the Milestones, blind stand users experienced a few seconds of delay. The new audio support from Dorgelo Audio Services created a direct line from the press stand to the blind stand. FC Emmen Naoberschap thanks Harry Dorgelo of Dorgelo Audio Services for this. From now on, users of the blind stand can enjoy FC Emmen’s home matches even better!
About The Blind Stand
Since 2019, FC Emmen has had a blind stand at De Oude Meerdijk. The blind stand is a place where visually impaired people and their companion can enjoy a football match with the help of audio equipment. In stadium De Oude Meerdijk, the visually impaired and blind football fans can experience a match live in the stadium among the rest of the spectators. They are continuously informed by the audio equipment about what is happening on the pitch.
