FC Emmen Inside Programme concluded at the Norgerhaven Prison

Through FC Emmen Inside, 14 motivated and screened detainees were given the chance to successfully start reintegrating. During a twelve-week programme, the participants received football training twice a week from a social football coach of FC Emmen Naoberschap. To conclude the project, on Wednesday 11 October (at Esserheem location) and 8 November (for the first time at Norgerhaven location) participants of FC Emmen Inside played football against FC Emmen’s business team.

FC Emmen Inside has been run in PI Veenhuizen at the Esserheem location for years. For the first time, the project was now also carried out at the Norgerhaven location. A success, because of the large groups, the closing activity was organised at both locations. Besides the football match, there was also a joint snack and the participants received certificates for participating in the project.

The participants have been working hard towards the conclusion over the past period. On the training pitch, eleven core social values took centre stage in recent months. During all FC Emmen Inside activities, the participants wore FC Emmen uniforms. In addition, the detainees received workshops on preparing a CV, successfully completing a job application procedure and group and individual interviews were also held.

About FC Emmen Inside

FC Emmen Inside is a social project that prepares motivated detainees for a return to society in the final phase of their detention. The ultimate goal is to find a job. During a four-week selection process, participants were considered for the project based on sentence time and behaviour.

Finding a job

An important part of successful reintegration is finding a job. In order to achieve this, we partner with MatchBoyz Recruiting and Career. Through the network of MatchBoyz and FC Emmen (Naoberschap), a match is sought with an employer for each individual. For some, that means someone still needs to follow a training course, while it could also be that a participant can start working straight away.
