FC Emmen Announce Launch of Scoring for Health Programme
“An opportunity for everyone.” This is the slogan FC Emmen have used to officially announce the launch of their Scoring for Health programme and to encourage more European football clubs, leagues and associations to join the initiative.
EFDN’s new programme Scoring for Health aims to tackle the problem of childhood obesity which, as identified by the World Health Organisation, is still a critical issue throughout Europe today. With the underlying target of promoting a healthy diet and lifestyle amongst children, their families and wider communities across Europe, the programme supports the 3rd UN Sustainable Development Goal of Good Health and Well Being and is co-funded by the UEFA Foundation for Children.
The Naoberschap United Foundation has been a loyal partner in the preparatory and implementary phases of the Scoring for Health programme. In recent days, the foundation announced its official launch of the programme and took the opportunity to communicate a new partnership with Kans voor de Veenkoloniën, an organisation seeking to improve the health and living conditions in the Veenkoloniën region of the Netherlands. The collaboration’s aim is to harness the power of football to positively influence the lifestyles of primary school students from group 7 in the Drenthe province through the 20-week teaching programme of Scoring for Health.
