FC Basel 1893 becomes first Swiss EFDN member

EFDN is proud to welcome FC Basel 1893 in the network. The club is the first Swiss network member.

FC Basel 1893 has been Swiss national champions 20 times, Swiss Cup winners 13 times, and Swiss League Cup winners once. Since 2001 the club plays its home games at St. Jakob-Park.

FC Basel 1893 has employed a full-time staff member in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility which underlines the importance of social commitment for the club. As an EFDN member, the club wants to share knowledge and experience in the field of social and environmental responsibility with other members in order to improve the quality and impact of local and international projects. FC Basel 1893 is already for multiple years a member of the Football Social Club Alliance (FSCA), a partner of EFDN.

FC Basel 1893 and all other EFDN members are convinced of the unifying power of football. Through sport, the individual development potential of young people is promoted and values like team spirit and fair play are conveyed. Taking into account the local social conditions, the FCB would like to make a positive contribution to society through football as far as possible.

Kids Camps and disability football

Besides to the commitment in the Football Social Club Alliance (FSCA), FC Basel 1893 organises the KidsClub and the DreamTeam. The FCB-Kids Club for the youngest red blue supporters was founded in 2016 and since then it has been a full success. The FCB Kids Camps as integral part of the FCB Kids Club aim to convey social skills, respect and fairness. The camps provide football-loving kids teenagers between the age of 6 and 13 with a full week of movement and shared joy. The DreamTeam was founded in 1997 with the goal to enable physically and mentally disabled people to play football. After being an integral part of the BSC Old Boys for 20 years, in 2017 the DreamTeam was integrated into the teams of the FC Basel 1893.
