Fare launch the #FootballPeople Fund ahead of their #FootballPeople weeks

The Fare #FootballPeople weeks will take place between 7 and 21 October 2021, bringing together over 100,000 people in over 40 countries in a message against racism and for diversity and inclusion.

The #FootballPeople Fund will offer grants of up to €500 and are now available for organisations across football, including supporter-led initiatives (such as Disabled Supporter Associations (DSAs)).

The grants may be used towards funding a variety of activities, including:

  • Organising a socially distanced football tournament
  • Hosting a discussion or networking event
  • Organising an e-sports tournament
  • Producing materials for your school
  • Developing your own campaign with messages online and in-person
  • Celebrating minority players at your club
  • Giving football taster sessions to people who do not play football

Applications can be made by directly filling out this form or via the Fare website.

The deadline to apply for grants is Sunday 5 September.

We would encourage interested parties to submit their applications soon, and would particularly encourage disabled fans and their grops to consider applying for this opportunity.

The Fare Network is an umbrella organisation that brings together individuals, informal groups and organisations driven to combat inequality in football and use the sport as a means for social change.

Fare’s #FootballPeople weeks have seen activities take place in almost every European country and across the globe, in Argentina, Brazil, Cameron, Mexico, Vietnam, Thailand, the United States and South Africa.

The initiative has also been supported by some of the biggest stars in football including Paul Pogba, Yaya Toure, Iker Casillas, Didier Drogba, Thomas Hitzlsperger, Casey Stoney, Anita Asante, Marco Verratti, Giorgio Chiellini and Edison Cavani.

Visit the Fare website for more information on the network and their #FootballPeople weeks.
