An exchange between Playing For Success N.E.C and S.V. GIO
The Playing For Success Programme of N.E.C Nijmegen is a community programme developed for young students interested in studying in a fun environment and those, who need some extra motivation for successfully performing at school.
Moreover, the programme is an initiatives that provides the opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences. On a regular basis, N.E.C takes part in exchanges, which are organised under the umbrella of the European Football for Development Network.
This time, on 12th April 2017, 15 children of the Playing For Success Nijmegen programme went on an exchange to S.V. GIO, which delivers a similar Playing For Success programme on behalf of Feyenoord Rotterdam.
The one-day exchange followed the aim of getting to know each-others programmes. Next to that, the Foundation of N.E.C, N.E.C Doelbewust, had the opportunity to represent during the exchange the fundamental values of the organisation; Vitality, Mentality and Development.
Among others, the children of N.E.C’s programme had the unique opportunity to take part in a tour through Feyenoord’s Stadium de Kuip, which left them impressed.
The participants received detailed information on the stadium from the children of the Playing For Success Rotterdam team. Additionally, the Exchange provided the children with the opportunity to discuss each-others Playing For Success programme and to share their enthusiasm.
Due to the football-based concept of the Playing For Success Football Programme, the exchange ended with a match of N.E.C Doelbewust – S.V. GIO and with an invitation for S.V. GIO to visit Nijmegen’s Goffert stadium soon for another exchange.
