EFDN welcomes new member FC Midtjylland
EFDN are pleased to welcome FC Midtjylland to the network. Through their Community / Sports Trust, FCM Samfund, the Danish club are engaged in many initiatives with the aims of social cohesion, anti-discrimination & social inclusion, employability, and ending poverty.
The Club has a focus on working towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals and through their current projects there are 3 which are particularly relevant: SDG 1- no poverty, SDG 3 – good health & well-being, and SDG 17 – partnerships for the goals.
Among the many different projects developed and run by FC Midtjylland and FCM Samfund, we can mention: “Lose and win” which is a health programme helping men and women lose weight and live a healthier lifestle; “Back on Track” supporting young job seekers get back on the career ladder; and “Christmas-Help” which offers kids from disadvantaged families training clothes, sports bags, footballs, towels, tickets to Superliga matches and a free subscription to the local football club.
With the organisation of activities such as combined football and educational activities, job training, and other special events, FC Midtjylland’s goal is to engage, inspire, and help people reach their life goals.
Through their collaboration with 136 local clubs, approximately 5,000 volunteers and 568 participants, the club’s CSR work is able to reach across 10 different municipalities and engage with around 570,o00 people in Denmark
FC Midtjylland hope to get ideas and learn from the network to inspire new programmes which will further grow their impact in Denmark and support the shared objective of working towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals, while at the same time the network can benefit from the knowledge and experience the Club have gained from their successful programmes to further increase the social impact of EFDN members on a European level.
