EFDN welcomes Falkirk FC Foundation to the network!
The European Football for Development Network is happy to welcome the Falkirk Football Community Foundation to its network. They are the 10th Scottish charity organisation to join the EFDN! The Falkirk Foundation aims, by sharing best practices, to learn from and exchange with other EFDN members and use the opportunity to be involved in some of the programmes being delivered by the network.
Falkirk Foundation is strongly committed to supporting its local community through its programmes and they aim to improve the lives of those they work with through physical activity and education. As the official Charity Partner of Falkirk FC, they are proud to represent the club and its values in all that they do throughout Forth Valley.
The charity organisation of Falkirk FC engages weekly with 1100 people from 18 months to 95 years old and have built a great knowledge in the area of football participation. They are also a Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) center that can deliver employability/sports programmes where persons gain qualifications as part of their programmes. The Foundation is also involved in numerous community-focused programmes delivered to the local community. They are particularly focused on Mental Well-being programmes.
Falkirk FC Foundation has also been delivering Employability programmes successfully for several years aimed at inspiring people who have experienced a setback to make changes to their own lives, to raise aspirations and ambitions and open their minds to new possibilities. The framework is called the Falkirk Work Academy. It can be adapted to suit partner requirements and provides a real client-centred approach with progressions aligned to the National Employability Pipeline.
They are nominated this November 2021 for the Scottish FA Best Community Football Project For All Award for their CAMHS (Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services) programme after initially being honoured by winning the Scottish FA Central Region Grassroots Award. This prize recognises participation in football from those from underrepresented and disadvantaged backgrounds.
Hubert Rovers, CEO Of EFDN: ‘We are proud to announce the Falkirk Football Community Foundation as 10th Scottish member to our network. It shows the importance of CSR activities in Scotland and the willingness to share knowledge on local, national and European level.”
