EFDN joins #SportPride2020 campaign

EFDN will be joining the #SportPride2020 on 27 June. The aim of the social media campaign is to promote a discrimination-free sport. The campaign is in line with our initiatives like the Pan-European programme Show Racism the Red Card.

With the social media campaign #SportPride2020, the Lesbian and Gay Association of Germany (LSVD), the Football Fans against Homophobia, the Queer Football Fan Clubs, F_in Network Women in Football and Football Supporters Europe want to use the Global Pride on 27/06/2020 to make lesbians, gays, bisexual, transgender and intersexual people (LGBTI+) visible in sport worldwide and they want to stand up for a discrimination-free sport. The call is already supported by sports associations and clubs, including our members 1. FSV Mainz 05 and FC St. Pauli.

Everybody can participate – whether LGBTI+ or not, whether sports association, sports club, athlete, whether professional, amateur, recreational athlete, or fan. Clubs, leagues and FAs can participate by posting a statement or the logo in the colours of the LGBTI+ community, video messages or photos of the team in the colours of the LGBTI+ community or by raising the rainbow- or the trans* flag using #SportPride2020 and #GlobalPride on social media.
