As 2020 comes to an end, EFDN invites you to look back on this year’s top activities, projects and news stories. Take a look at some highlights from July.

World Youth Skills Day

World Youth Skills Day falls on the 15th of July. It is a day to recognise the importance of the youth and the importance of encouraging the development of professional and academic skills amongst the youth. This year we took the opportunity to applaud our members for the work they do to emphasise the central role that skillful youth will play in the future of their local communities. United By Emotion Against Discrimination Webinar

On the 25th, EFDN was invited by Organization Earth and Hope Sports to present at a webinar on fighting discrimination in society. Marketing & Communications Manager Marius Stegemann touched upon the pan-European programmes EFDN develops to use football as an instrument to promote diversity and respect. EFDN Interviews

In July, three more CSR experts joined the EFDN Interview series to share their thoughts, experiences and hopes for social responsibility in their clubs and organisations.

  • Iñigo Diaz, Project Manager at Real Sociedad Fundazioa, outlined the current initiatives his organisation is carrying out and what direction they are going towards.
  • KAA Gent Foundation Project Coordinator Pierre Van der Veken shared his personal experiences and reactions working with the club to support the community.
  • Tomas Abreu, Marketing & Partnerships Manager at the Brentford FC Community Sports Trust, delved into the planning and fundraising processes for the organisation’s initiatives.

Olympique de Marseille was awarded the Philippe Séguin Trophy 2020 in the Professional Club category for their OM Volontariat and FC Castellane initiatives.

Club Brugge launched its #NoHeartNoGlory campaign on a special jersey to promote the social work undertaken by the club’s Foundation especially during the first wave of the COVID-19 epidemic.

PAOK FC teamed up with K2 Furniture to provide valuable equipment to the Centre for Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind in Thessaloniki.
