EFDN Members take Action for Pink October: Supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Through Football

As part of Pink October, also known as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, clubs within the EFDN are coming together to raise awareness, promote early detection, and support individuals affected by breast cancer. This global campaign is a vital initiative that calls on people worldwide to unite under the pink ribbon and highlight the importance of breast health.

In Greece, OFI Crete is joining Pink October by focusing on accessible healthcare for women. The club has organised free mammograms in collaboration with local healthcare providers, offering screenings at Eleftherias Square for women in the community. This initiative aims to make early detection services available to those who might not otherwise have access, emphasising that “prevention is in our hands.”

Paris Saint-Germain: Turning Paris Pink with ‘La Vie en Rose’

Paris Saint-Germain is embracing Pink October with a series of special initiatives, including the release of a limited-edition pink kit in collaboration with Jordan, symbolising their support for breast cancer awareness. PSG has also partnered with Qatar Airways and MatchWornShirt to raise funds, with proceeds from auctioned match-worn shirts supporting cancer research and treatment. The club’s women’s team has taken an active role as well, producing a campaign video to spread awareness and inspire fans to join the cause.

Through Pink October, these EFDN member clubs highlight the crucial role that football can play in raising awareness for health issues. As partners of EFDN, these clubs exemplify the positive impact that sports organisations can make in addressing pressing health and social issues. This October, they stand united with their communities and fans, bringing hope and action to the fight against breast cancer.
