EFDN benefits from European Week of Sport Mobile Journalism Training

In the build up to the #BeActive European Week of Sport, EFDN was among sports organisations that participated in a Mobile Journalism (MOJO) online training hosted by the European Commission with an aim to briefing participants on ways of producing high quality, impactful digital content.

The European Week of Sport will take place between September 23 and 30 as part of efforts to encourage Europeans to improve their physical and mental well-being, enrich their communities and empower themselves by being active. EFDN will support the campaign by sharing content online with its members and hosting challenges in a bid to stimulate physical activity and keeping fit. Raising awareness of football-based community programmes aiming at the promotion of healthy nutrition, physical activity and a healthy lifestyle is one element of the upcoming #Morethanfootball Action Weeks (15.09. – 11.10.2020).

The MOJO training focused on how to be a #BeActive journalist through the production of behind the scenes updates and preparations; posting consistent campaign content and offers of support for workshops on the opening and closing days.

The world is increasingly consuming content through their phones and social media channels. Similarly, content creation via phones is now significantly easier than it has ever been before. Channeling the power at hand through one’s phone is an impactful vehicle for creating and driving said content. A mobile journalist then has the power influence change and drive conversation particularly regarding activities leading up to the European Week of Sport.

#Morethanfootball Action Weeks

While supporting this initiative, EFDN will also be implementing activities as part of its #Morethanfootball Action Weeks (15.09. – 11.10.2020) scheduled for between September 15 and October 11 to showcase and further broaden the reach of Community and Social Responsibility in European football. During the #Morethabfootball Action Weeks, participating organisations celebrate the work they do on and off the pitch on local, national and international levels. You can sign up for the preparation webinar here.
