Djurgården IF will receive SEK 1.5 million to invest in social activities
The city of Stockholm have announced they will distribute SEK 1.5 million to Djurgården IF and to Djurgården Hockey.
Football clubs can create a sustainable impact in their communities. Therefeore, the City of Stockholm will give SEK 1.5 million (about 144,000 Euros) to Djurgården IF and to Djurgården Hockey to fund many projects dedicated to kids in Stockholm.
In the 2018/2019 season, Djurgården Football and Djurgården Hockey have visited 80 schools and met 16,000 girls and boys. In 2020, to the proud of many Stockholmers, Djurgården will be able to expand their investment in physical activity and start touring parks, sports venues, and urban environments with their mobile football and field hockey concept.
Besides their mobile sports concept, Djurgården is also moving in with a permanent presence at a large number of schools throughout Stockholm. At each school, a dedicated staff member will work full time to create a wide variety of free sports activities linked with the school day.
