Diverse and creative projects in the race for More than Football Award
Focus has shifted to the More than Football Award powered by Musco Lighting after the conclusion of the #Morethanfootball Action Weeks campaign on 11 October. The shortlist will be announced on Monday, 26 October following a thorough assessment of the applications received. Shortlisted projects will be presented online during the 14th EFDN ‘#Morethanfootball’ Conference. 23 participants sent in applications for the award which is powered by Musco Lighting and aims to honour the best social initiatives in Europe delivered by a European Club, League or FA by celebrating the work they do on and off-pitch on local, national and international levels. The projects will be assessed not only on the quality of the project but also on the level of promotion and engagement during the #Morethanfootball Action Weeks.
With COVID-19 dominating the world, football and Community and Social Responsibility (CSR) space over the past year, it is no surprise that a number of the projects put forward focus on how clubs and foundations have responded to the pandemic. Health and wellbeing have also been a top priority for foundations over the last ten months and projects relating to the element have also been received in plenty. The range of projects implemented across the European continent, also touch on education, employability and gender equality.
The winner of the More than Football Award powered by Musco Lighting will not only receive recognition for having implemented the most innovative and impactful Community and Social Responsibility programme in European football, but they will also win a complete Mini-Pitch System™ modular sports solution. The club-branded mini-pitch will be developed in partnership between the winning organisation, EFDN and Musco.
